SELFDRIVING TO SEMLIKI NATIONAL PARK

The park is found in western Uganda in Bundibugyo known for its unique attractions like the Hot springs and animals in the reserve. Semliki national park is bordering Congo so the birds from Congo can be sighted here.

The park is near Kibale National park and a visitor can decide to Visit from Kibale. Other neighboring destinations include Queen Elizabeth National park, Rwenzori National park, Bwindi National park and etc.

The park has attractions which can be visited on self-drive like the two hot springs, Female and male, Birds, Animals in the reserve, the Batwa culture experience, the land scape and many more.

Semliki national park scrawls across the floor of semliki valley on the remote western side of Rwenzori. The park is dominated by the Eastern most extention of the great Ituri forest of Congo Basin.

The biologically diverse region also provides shelter to a further 120 mammals including several primate species such as baboons and chimpanzees, as well as elephants and antelopes. There are around 350 species of birds hosted in this forest including 23 Albert Rift endemics.

Others include Hippos they are also common along the Semliki River as are crocodiles. More than 300 species of butterflies have been identified including 46 species of forest swallowtail together with 235 moth species.

Among the birds found in this park include, Guinea-Congo forest biome bird species, spot breasted Ibis, Congo sepent eagle, Chestnut flaned goshawk, red thighed sparraw whawk. Self driving to semliki National park is one of the best experience ever.
